July 2, 2007 -- Page Six was right again! We reported last week that there was trouble in the marriage of Salman Rushdie and "Top Chef" hottie Padma Lakshmi, and now the couple has divorced. After an 8-year relationship and more than 3 years of marriage, Lakshmi told Page Six exclusively that she "regrets that their mutual efforts failed to make the marriage work." She asks that their privacy be respected during this time. Rushdie, 60, and Lakshmi, 36, were married in New York in April 2004.
